The National Industrial Vocational Skills Competition in 2024 – The 8th National Worker Vocational Skills Competition opened on September 11th in Xi’an, Shaanxi province. The competition is jointly hosted by All-China Federation of Trade Unions, Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security of the People’s Republic of China, Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People’s Republic of China, Ministry of Public Security of the People’s Republic of China, and The People’s Government of Shaanxi Province, organized by The Chinese Workers’ Technical Association, Shaanxi Provincial Federation of Trade Unions, Xi’an Municipal People’s Government, Baoji Municipal People’s Government, Weinan Municipal People’s Government. It is the national-level first-category vocational skills competition with the widest coverage and the largest participation of workers in the country.
As the only support unit of the welding equipment, Shandong Aotai Electric Co., Ltd. is escorting the welder event of the competition. Totally 32 representative teams and 546 contestants from all around the country (area, city) and Xinjiang Production And Construction Corps attended the final of 6 job types.

Since 2003, this event has been held for seven consecutive sessions, which has effectively led to the vigorous development of skills competitions in various regions. Workers have a broad stage for learning techniques, practicing skills, and enhancing abilities. According to the statistics, since 2018, over 100 million person-time workers have participated in the skills competition organized by trade unions, and more than 3 million workers improved their skill level through the competition.
